vSphere 6.7 Product Suite Installation

vSphere Replication and Disaster Recovery

The vSphere and VMware Site Recovery Manager is a business continuity and disaster recovery solution that helps you to plan, test, and run the recovery on virtual machines between a protected vCenter Server site and a recovery vCenter Server site. Site Recovery Manager protects virtual machines in different ways including datastore groups, individual virtual machines, and storage policies.

You can use Site Recovery Manager to implement different types of recovery for both a planned migration and for disaster recovery. Site Recovery Manager organizes the recovery process with replication mechanisms to minimize potential data loss and system down time.

The Fast Lane consulting team can support you with the design, integration, and management techniques needed for proper replication and disaster recovery. This includes a recovery plan which specifies the order in which virtual machines start up on the recovery site. It contains specific information such as IP addresses, network parameters, and can contain user-specified scripts to aid in application startup upon recovery.

VMware High Availability

VMware HA provides high availability to virtual machines by pooling them and the hosts they reside on into a cluster. The hosts in the cluster are monitored and in the event of a failure, the virtual machines on a failed host are restarted on alternate hosts.

Our consulting team will configure all hosts in the cluster. One of the primary hosts will be designated as the active primary host and it decides where to restart virtual machines, keeps track of failed restart attempts and determines when it is appropriate to keep trying to restart a virtual machine.
